01

Getting started

What exactly am I buying?

A website built for your trade, made yours, hosted and looked after for as long as you want it. One build fee at the start, then a monthly fee that covers everything after it.

How much of my time does it take?

Under an hour in total. A short call, one email with your logo and photos, and one look over the draft before it goes live.

How long until it is live?

Usually about a week from you sending your photos over, plus a day or two for any changes you want. If you need it faster, say so and I will tell you honestly whether I can.

Do I need to know anything technical?

No. There is nothing to log into and nothing to maintain. If you can send an email with photos attached, you can do your half of this.

Can you work with me if I am not local?

Yes. I am in Olney, Milton Keynes and work with trades across the UK. The whole thing runs over the phone and email, so where you are makes no difference.

My trade is not one of your demos. Can you still help?

Almost certainly. The demos are the trades I have built templates for so far, not a limit. Ask, and if yours is a sensible fit I will build it.

02

What you get

How many pages do I get?

As many as your trade actually needs, which for most is a handful. I would rather build five pages people read than fifteen nobody scrolls.

Will it work properly on a phone?

Yes, and that is the case it is designed for first. Most of your customers will find you outdoors on poor signal, so the phone layout is the one I build before the desktop one.

Can customers get a price on the site?

It depends on the trade. Work that prices sensibly by area, like exterior cleaning, can have a price calculator on the site if you want one. Plumbing and electrical work cannot be quoted without seeing the job, so those sites take a proper enquiry instead of pretending to know.

Whose photos go on it?

Yours, always. Photographs of work you have actually done. I will not put stock or generated images of someone else's jobs on a site with your name on it.

Do I get somewhere for reviews?

Yes, pointed at your real Google reviews. I will not write testimonials for you and I will not put a review section up with invented names in it.

What happens to an enquiry when someone sends one?

It is saved and emailed straight to you, laid out so you can read it and ring back without opening a laptop.

03

Cost and commitment

What does it cost?

A one-off build fee of £199, then £39 a month. That is the whole price; there is no tier you have to upgrade to later.

Why a monthly fee at all?

Because a website is not a thing you buy once. Hosting, the certificate, backups, security patching and your changes all continue, and the monthly fee is what pays for them being someone's job rather than nobody's.

Do you charge for changes?

No. Photos, prices, services, a new number — send them and they go up, usually the same day. Charging by the hour for a five-minute change is how sites end up years out of date.

Am I tied into a contract?

Thirty days notice, either way. No minimum term, no exit fee, and nothing switched off without warning.

What happens if I leave?

You keep your domain, your photos, your content and your enquiries, and I hand them over. I keep the underlying template, the same way a builder keeps their tools.

What if I stop paying?

You get told, not cut off. The site stays up through the notice period while you move it or wind it down, and I will not hold your domain hostage to settle a bill.

04

Domains, email and your old site

Do I need a domain already?

No. If you have one it gets pointed at the new site. If you have not, one is bought in your name at cost, and it stays yours.

Can I keep the domain I have?

Yes, and you should. Changing it throws away whatever standing you already have in search, so it moves across rather than getting replaced.

I already have a website. Can you take it over?

Usually. More often than not, rebuilding on a trade template is quicker and cheaper than propping up whatever it currently runs on. I will look at it and tell you which applies.

Will I lose my Google ranking?

Not if it is done properly. The old addresses get pointed at the matching new ones so nothing that used to work breaks.

05

Hosting and keeping it running

Where is the site hosted?

On UK hosting, included in the monthly fee. There is no separate hosting bill to set up or remember.

What about backups?

Taken nightly. If something goes wrong the site goes back to how it was yesterday, and most of the time you will never know it happened.

What if the site goes down?

You should hear it from me before a customer tells you, and you get a plain explanation of what happened rather than a status page.

Do you track my visitors?

Not at the moment. There is no analytics on these sites, which is why the cookie banner has almost nothing to gate. If that ever changes, the cookie policy changes first.

06

Working with me

Who actually builds it?

I do, directly. Nothing is passed to a subcontractor and nothing is generated and shipped without me reading it.

How quickly do you reply?

Same day on weekdays. You message me on the number or email above — there is no ticket system in between.

How many clients do you take on?

A limited number at a time, deliberately. Same-day changes stop being true the moment I take on more than I can answer.

What if I want something you have not mentioned?

Ask. If it is sensible I will build it, and if it is not the right thing for your business I will say that instead of selling it to you.

Not answered

Ask me the awkward one.

If there is something you want to know that is not here, it is probably the thing actually stopping you. Ask it and you will get a straight answer, even when the straight answer is that I am not the right person for the job.
