How it works
Six steps. Under an hour of your time.
The whole point of this is that the website stops being your problem. So here is exactly what happens, in order, and how long each bit takes you rather than me.
-
01
You get in touch
2 minutesFill in the form, ring me, or send an email. Tell me your trade and roughly where you work. That is enough to start with.
You will hear back the same day on a weekday. If a website is the wrong thing for you, I will say so then rather than three weeks in.
-
02
We talk it through
20 minutesOne phone call, in plain English. What you do, who calls you, which jobs you want more of and which you would rather stop being rung about.
No technical questions, no brief to write. If you would rather do it over email or WhatsApp, that is fine too.
-
03
You send your bits
10 minutesYour logo if you have one, your number, your area, and a handful of photographs of your own work. One email covers it.
Photos of jobs you have actually done, always. I will not put stock imagery of someone else's work on your site.
-
04
I build it
About a weekYour trade's template becomes yours: your name, your colours, your photos, your services, your enquiry form.
You get a private link to look at before anyone else can see it. Nothing goes public until you say so.
-
05
You tell me what to change
A day or twoLook through it on your phone, the way your customers will. Send me a list of what you want different.
There is no revision limit and no change request form. It is a message and a reply.
-
06
It goes live, and stays looked after
OngoingThe domain gets pointed, the padlock goes on, and the site is yours. Then hosting, backups, security and updates are my job.
Send me new photos or a price change whenever you like. Usually up the same day, at no extra cost.
The alternatives
The honest comparison.
Building it yourself is genuinely cheaper, and a good freelancer will build you something good. The difference is not really the price — it is whose evening it costs when something needs changing.
| Groundwork | Building it yourself | Freelancer or agency | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who builds it | I do, start to finish | You do | Often whoever is free |
| Your time | Under an hour | Evenings and weekends, indefinitely | A brief, then meetings |
| Built for your trade | Yes — the layout starts there | A general template you adapt | Depends what you brief |
| Changes later | Message me, usually same day | Yours to do | Often billed by the hour |
| When it breaks | I fix it, usually before you notice | Yours to work out | Raise a ticket and wait |
| Hosting and backups | Included | Another subscription to manage | Usually extra |
| Who you speak to | Me, on the number above | A help centre article | An account manager |
The work
What the build actually involves.
Built for one trade
The layout, the wording and the enquiry route are shaped around how your trade actually wins work.
Phone first
Most of your customers find you outdoors on poor signal. That is the case the site is built for.
Enquiries you can read
They land in your inbox formatted so you can ring back without opening a laptop.
Hosting and SSL
UK hosting, the padlock in the address bar, domain pointed properly. Included.
Nightly backups
If something breaks the site goes back to yesterday. You will most likely never notice.
Monthly updates
Photos, services, prices, a new number. Send them and we put them up at no extra cost.
Found locally
Page titles, descriptions and a Google Business Profile pointed at the right pages.
A person answers
You message me, not a helpdesk. Same day on weekdays.
Next
Step one takes two minutes.
Tell me your trade and roughly where you work. You will get an honest answer about whether this is worth it for you, same day on a weekday.
Or ring me on 07598 781580.
